Through Secondhand Daylight documents a small proportion of my collection of research that continues to inspire and develop new avenues for investigation. The fragments, symbols and material arrangements have informed larger art works produced over the last 10 years. Many of the objects presented in the publication are continually re-visited and hold a special meaning to me. I often extract and reinvent this source material by adopting different skills and techniques associated with different cultures. Within my work there is always a utilitarian aspect, giving the feeling that the art works belong to a once active society. The locations of which always remain a mystery but clues are presented that give a sense of the type of characters that could potentially occupy these places. The publication gives an insight into my own thought processes and particular aesthetic interests.
